Communications
As a multimedia content creator, I am experienced in generating engaging and accurate content for print, broadcast and online mediums. I consider strategic planning, campaign development and execution to be an extension of my continued education, communications expertise, and experience with audience engagement. Below is sampling of my Marketing & Communications work.
Content Development
RefugeeAlberta.ca was created in response to the provincial influx of Syrian refugees in 2015. This information hub was designed to serve refugees at every step of their resettlement journey. The site also serves immigrant-serving organizations, and is an informational resource for the public at large. I developed content and advised on site design for two portals of RefugeeAlberta.ca. The full website was successfully launched in January 2017.
Social Media
Social media is a powerful tool in both marketing and communications. From information dissemination, to a platform for discussion, and bringing online relationships offline, using social media strategically can increase an organization's voice and reach. I have created content and managed social media accounts (including blogs), for several organizations. Click above to check our the AAISA blog, and click below to see what I am Tweeting about today!
Media Relations
The Alberta Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (AAISA) undertook a research project in 2016 to shed light on the unique needs, barriers, and experiences of Syrian refugees who have recently resettled in Alberta. Through strategic media relations and a collaborative relationship with the University of Calgary - Faculty of Social Work, we generated upwards of 10 media stories about the study across the province.
